Student wellbeing and support

We know that learning is made easier and students can thrive when they feel a sense of safety and belonging. Our student wellbeing approach is designed to help students feel they are part of a community while being seen, supported and recognised for what makes them unique.

Our Wellbeing Philosophy

We strive to make the learning experience as comfortable and welcoming as possible for all our students.

Our Wellbeing team works particularly close with our Early Intervention and Re-engagement and YPEP students both one-on-one and in the classroom to find creative solutions that help them build resilience, cultivate self-esteem and improve engagement so they feel positive about being in the learning environment. If needed, the our team can refer students on to other expert professionals for further support.

Student Support

We believe in providing our students with the best opportunities to build resilience and develop a positive sense of wellbeing.

Throughout the year, our Wellbeing and Educator teams link in with other organisations to incorporate as many experiences as possible to expand on learning opportunities and personal growth.

These include topics such as mental fitness, facing mental health challenges, healthy relationships, personal safety and boundary setting and much more.

Creating Safe Spaces

We aim to work with each student to build their feelings of success in learning and increase their confidence and stamina. We recognize that the classroom space can be challenging for some students. We work with students to offer learning solutions that help them to feel comfortable and focused, so they can work toward reaching their goals.

At FLC we have many learning strategies we can utilize including in-classroom adaptability, the Breakout Room and quiet spaces.
