CGEA (Certificates in General Education for Adults) is a widely used curriculum which is seen to meet the needs of a range of learners. These programs are ideal for students between the ages of 14 – 18 years and are disengaged from education in a mainstream setting.
While the CGEA Certificate’s main focus is on the core units including Literacy and Numeracy, it also provides a framework for developing skills in a range of general and vocational areas as the students will participate in the assigned elective modules.
The flexibility of the curriculum is highly regarded in terms of its content and has been widely used throughout Australia by TAFE Institutes and Registered Training Organisations. The CGEA courses are run for a period of either 6 or 12 months each with students attending classes 3 or 4 days per week.
