VET Education
A Vocational Education & Training course is a nationally accredited training course in technical and job related skills, covering a large number of careers and industries such as trades, office or community services work, retail, hospitality and technology.
Foundation Learning Centre offer students a range of VET courses in a variety of industry areas, including Community Services, Early Childhood, Business, Retail, Animal Studies and Salon Assistant. Students are able to select one of these that are run from our centre, to study as part of their VCAL.
Foundation College VCAL students are welcome to select an external VET course operated from another RTO if they are after a specific skill.
Students who wish to undertake a VET course at Foundation Learning Centre as part of their VCAL or VCE will need to contact their home school VET Coordinator to make these arrangements.

ACM20117 Certificate II in Animal Studies (current)
Take the nationally accredited Certificate II in Animal Studies and start your career as an animal attendant in an animal shelter or veterinary clinic. Turn your passion for animals into a career as you gain practical skills and build industry relationships.
Through theoretical and practical coursework, you will learn to:
- Provide care to a range of animals
- Monitor and maintain animal health
- Practice hygiene and infection control
- Respond to expectations of pet owners
- Understand what is required in running a small companion animal business
Completing this course will provide you with:
- A nationally recognised qualification at Certificate II level

Do you want to be a hairdresser? Get started with the Certificate II in Salon Assistant.
A nationally recognised qualification, this entry-level course will prepare you for work and further study. You will develop fundamental salon skills such as shampooing techniques, conducting financial transactions, preparing clients for salon services and drying hair to shape.
