These online courses address the demand to support Job Seekers, the need for new ways of learning, and the development of new skills and resilience

The Take the Next Step program is also designed for young adults who have left school in the past five years and are wanting to look at entry level options or vocational training opportunities.

It is ideal for people in our community that are
currently out of work, as well as recent school leavers looking to enter the workforce.

For those who are preparing for the next step in their life, it can be challenging.

Foundation Learning Centre has always been a leader in community education, and it continues to be at the forefront of supporting youth and those that may have no idea what comes next and may need help with planning and information.

Take The Next Step, program consisting of a suite of employability and vocational skills, that is positive and supporting.  

Whether they are a recent school leaver or have been wanting to reconnect and resume their journey, this could be the answer for them.

The Take The Next Step Program will –

  • Build their confidence and self esteem
  • Give them the skills to be Job ready for entry into the workforce
  • Give them the skills to be financially informed for adult life
  • Provide taster programs that give a real insight for further study and work
  • Provide outcomes to step into a variety of industries

This 3-day course will help you understand more about yourself and your interests and how to match them to industry opportunities.

Sessions: 9.30am – 2.30pm

Learners are encouraged to believe in themselves, to focus on not giving up and to find a positive in everyday working challenges. They are guided towards their own personal strengths and adapting those skills within a new working environment. Learners do practical rehearsal activities that focus on how to transfer these skills into the work environment. This course has been developed for people who want to refresh their office, administration and business skills.

It is suitable for those retraining or looking to change their career path as well as those entering the workforce for the first time.

Areas covered include:

• File Management: electronic and manual

• Email & Calendar Management

• Current Terminology

• Update & refresher on Google Workspaces and MS Office

• All things CANVA

Sessions: 9 x 2 hours sessions

Date:  Thursdays, from 9th February to 6th April

Time: 6.00pm – 8.00pm

required to work within these fastpaced, enjoyable industries.

Course Breakdown: Monday’s are focused on Employability Skills and Resumes. Tuesday’s are OH&S focused included hazards and housekeeping. Wednesday’s are hands on with tools and materials.
