English & Literacy Programs

Foundation Community Centre

English programs include reading, writing, communication and basic maths. These classes are for people who are keen to improve their English in order to find work, enrol in further study or be more involved in community life. Concession prices are available to card holders for these programs.

• If English is not your first language, these classes can help you to learn and practice English.

• If English is your first language, these classes can help you to build your reading, writing and communication and conversation skills.

Please note:  All students are required to pay an annual $10 registration fee on enrolment.

 

English for Living in Casey Level 1

Do you or a member of your family want to learn English for everyday life?

In this class we will help you to get the confidence to start learning the English that you need for life, training courses and work.

Sessions:   Weekly

Cost:           $30.00 per term (Full funded                              Fee)

This course helps you to learn everyday English. You will gain the skills and confidence that you need for everyday life, including preparing for training and employment.

This program is delivered online.

Would you like to learn speaking, listening, reading and writing? These classes will help you to learn these skills which will help with conversation,
everyday life activities, school activities, preparing for formal training and seeking employment.

Computers for Beginners

This course is ideal for people who have English as an additional language or those who have limited computer and phone app skills.

This program will allow the learners to confidently use computers and their mobile phones.

The program will focus both on computer skills and digital literacy. The following topics will be covered:

• Understanding and using the different
parts of the computers

• Creating and saving documents

• Emails and accessing the internet

• Using mobile apps – Google maps,
translates, online banking etc. .

This course is run from the Cranbourne West Community Hub at 4 Flicka Blvd, Cranbourne West.
